"Skyscraper Melancholy"

Months after chapter 9, you and your rival join a national circuit and arrive at new York. Sumisu meets up with Dynamic Kid here and he's looking real rough.

Dynamic Kid came back from retirement, drawn to the ring like Wakamoto but he feels that he betrayed his fans since they already mourned his departure from the world of the mat.

Sumisu hypes him up and uses some of his own rousing words against him, Dynamic Kid agrees but remains melancholy throughout. Sumisu invites him for a drink but Kid is shocked since he doesn't believe in drinking as a wrestler (not unlike how Sumisu used to be). It seems that Sumisu can't help but project his own feelings and vices onto the struggling Kid, was this the role Sumisu's previous helpers had too or is he an inversion of their helpfulness? How much did their advice save Sumisu? Did it only serve to draw him back to the world of the mat over and over only to escape his problems temporarily, leaving him still trapped in his maze?

The first opponent is the Steiner Brothers! They're acting like pricks and laughing at Sumisu and his partner but the two protagonists hype each other up and get ready for a brawl.

The second (third and fourth?) opponent is the Urban Blasters! They look cool...Kinda.

Thirdly and finally are the Brilliant Bulls which includes Dynamic Kid. Kid seems to be in a particular headspace (he talks dreamily about how New York smiles upon him, how he can hear the statue of liberty whispering to him)

Sumisu asks his partner what pro wrestling is and that the ring seems bigger than usual and gets different replies The Spike dismisses him and tells him to focus and that the ring just seems bigger because he's getting in his head Dick Road tells him that it's like being a 'dream traveler' drifting through towns in search of a dream that no one knows and tells him that the ring only seems big because he's hungover The Underground tells him that it's "...Mirrors...Ashes...Urns?" before admitting that he doesn't know and then only wistfully says Sumisu's name afterwards. Seeming to be the only one to understand the significance of Sumisu's altered perception.

Sumisu and Kid talk, Kid says Wakamoto would be proud of him. Sumisu was expecting to find the answers to his question in the fight but didn't, which Kid expected. Kid says that the goddess abandoned him long ago as he's a man stuck in the past but that Sumisu still has a life ahead of him and plenty of time to think on these questions. Kid laments his life and career as he finally allows himself to truly retire, saying that the fact he had fun must surely be the goddess taking pity on him since he's a "poor man on the verge of death".

Sumisu has a break down and begins screaming in tears.
